Kalonzo’s top Rift Valley ally quits Wiper
Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka’s top Rift Valley ally Yatich Arap Namba has resigned from the Wiper Democratic Movement. In a letter to WDM party secretary general Mutula Kilonzo and copied to the Registrar of Political Parties, Namba communicated his decision to quit. “I hereby tender my resignation as member of WDM. My membership is as per record sat the registrar’s office is OK6293,” he said in a letter dated and received on July 6.
It understood that, Namba who is the current WDM chairman in Baringo central constituency and acting Baringo branch chair quit due to what he terms as frustration. The VP’s former ally has in the past complained that Kalonzo failed to help him after he stood with him in the 2007 election when he lost the Baringo Central seat due to the ODM wave then. “I have been a loyal servant to my friend Kalonzo, but unfortunately, he hasn’t stood with me,” Namba said in an interview. In April, he declined an appointment as a Chief Research Officer in the office of the Vice President terming it as a junior position and a mockery to his stature.
