HOMA BAY Leaders should be elected based on their understanding of the people’s needs, senator aspirant Hillary Alila has said.

The People's Democratic Party aspirant said integrity counts more than party affiliation.

Alila decamped from ODM to PDP after a hotly contested party primary saw Immigration minister Otieno Kajwang awarded the ticket last month.PDP is in the Cord Coalition.

Former Rangwe MP Martin Ogindo told voters to support Cord.

He said voters should identify the right leaders within the coalition and avoid concentrating on party at the expense of capability.

The two were speaking at a joint rally yesterday in Homa Bay town.
