Safeguard Migingo - Kenneth
EAGLE Alliance presidential candidate Peter Kenneth has assured the public that Migingo Island will not be taken by neighbouring Uganda.
Kenneth said if elected the next president he will strive to ensure the island remains Kenya's.He said there would be no further negotiations.
“If Migingo is in Kenya then there will be no turning back."Kenneth said the dispute over the island is a threat to national security.
He said the matter needs to be resolved once and for all.
Kenneth, who was accompanied by his running mate Ronald Osumba, was addressing a rally at Nyayo Gardens in Gem district yesterday.
He said Siaya county is "lucky in the new political dispensation" because two of its sons are vying for president and deputy respectively.
Kenneth was referring to Cord presidential candidate Prime Minister Raila Odinga and Osumba. He asked the electorate to ensure it does not lose both coveted seats.
Kenneth, however, said he is aware Raila enjoys unwavering support in the region but voters should consider the former Gatnga MP's development record.
