Young and Shivam dominate Enduro 5 in Kajiado

Zane Young, one of the most promising quad youngsters and defending bike champion Shivam Vinayak won the fifth round of the National Enduro Championship held in Kajiado over the weekend. Young riding a Raptor 660 machine won the quads class and was followed by his sister Chantal Young, who rode a Honda 450cc bike.

Yamaha Raptor 700 rider Chris Wahome finished third overall in quads. Shivam, a University of Nairobi second year dentistry student, was in a class of his own as  tackling the Kajiado terrain with gusto in his four-stroke Kawasaki 450 machine. Second overall was Nakuru newcomer Mark Glen. Sean Wilcock, who has attacked relentlessly throughout this season, settled for third spot overall.

The event covered a 12.7km stretch which was repeated severally by riders within the cut-off time. Wilcock’s namesake Sean Pelling cruised home in fourth overall place, followed by legendary rally driver Ian Duncan. Veteran Anthony Nielsen didn’t participate in the race after he got injured in practice on Saturday. The next round of the Enduro (6) moves to the coast on September 8-9.
