Equity Bank disconnect Safaricom in Left Foot League
Equity Bank came from a goal down to thump Safaricom FC 4-2 in an entertaining Left Foot Sports amateur Division Four league match played at Highridge Primary grounds. The bankers suffered an early setback as Safaricom went ahead in the 5th minute courtesy of Moses Kamaila. Equity drew level through Chris Alungu but the goal was short-lived as Steve Mwangi gave Safaricom the second goal.
On resumption, Equity got the better of Safaricom, grabbing 3 quick fire goals through Henry Katana, Dan Muthendu and Steve Omenda respectively. In other matches, Bethel beat Astral Aviation ‘B’ 3-2, Total Kenya edged out Kenya Airways Cargo 2-0, Rapid Communications battled to a 2-2 draw with Hurligham FC, Black Diamond pipped South B Mosque 1-0 while All Saints Cathedral suffered a 1-2 loss to Sunfit Gangsters.
Vision 2020 put up a brave fight to beat Madaraka United 2-1 in another Division One match at the same venue. NIC Bank’s poor run continued after they succumbed 0-2 to Total Touch Cargo, National Bank drew 1-1 with NPC Parklands Church while Mohammed Muigai remained on course for the title after edging out Ericsson Kenya 2-1. In Division 3, Strategic Industries won 3-1 against Grant Thornton, Nyayo FC beat Memon Community 2-0, Zuchinni Green Grocers were 2-0 victors over Advert Eyez Ltd while Inter Nationale were beaten 2-0 by Patmos.
