NCCK announces new Upper Eastern Region leadership changes

The newly elected officials will hold office for three years from 2024 to 2027

The National Council of Churches of Kenya has announced changes in the Upper Eastern Region leadership.

This is after they held the 14th Regional Conference of the NCCK Upper Eastern Region.

The region comprises delegates from Isiolo, Marsabit, Meru and Tharaka Nithi counties.

The newly elected officials will hold office for three years from 2024  to 2027.

NCCK elected Rev Dr Nicholas Nteere the chairperson, Rev James Kimathi the Vice Chair, Bishop Japhet Gikunda the Treasurer and Jocyline Kagendo the Women's Representative.

Other elected leaders are Boniface Mwiti the Youth Representative and Persons Living with Disabilities  Representative Pst Francis Lemore.

The NCCK Upper Eastern Region was established in 1996.

The National Council of Churches of Kenya is a family of Christian communions and organisations in fellowship and witness.

NCCK was established in June 1913 during the United Missionary Conference held at Thogoto, near Nairobi.

The delegates in the conference, representing the missionary institutions working in the country at the time, affirmed their wish to work towards a united church that would impact the lives of the people.
