Three senior officials of the National Cereals and Produce Board are expected to be arraigned before the court today (Thursday).

On Tuesday, police said they will be charged with fraud and conspiracy to commit a crime.

The officers were arrested on Tuesday evening in connection with ongoing investigations into fake fertiliser distribution.

Their arrest followed the Director of Public Prosecution’s approval of police plans to charge the individuals and a businessman over the scandal.

Detectives were Tuesday dispatched to search for the individuals for processing in readiness for arraignment and prosecution.

Hype Ballo in court for bail hearing in murder case

Renowned entertainer Allan Ochieng alias Hype Ballo will on Tuesday appear before Kiambu Law Court for a bail hearing in the murder of Felix Kelian Kintosi, a DCI officer.

Kintosi was attached to the Kabete Police Station.

During his plea-taking, Ochieng denied all the charges levelled against him.

Then, the ODPP through prosecution counsel Jenifer Ndeda applied for his detention pending the completion of a social inquiry report by Probation and Aftercare.

Lady Justice Dorah Chepkwony allowed the prosecution's application and remanded the accused person for seven more days at Nairobi remand prison.
