KNEC announces recruitment of KCSE assessors; How to apply

The Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC) has announced the recruitment of KCSE oral and practical papers assessors

In a notice seen by the Star, KNEC said interested persons will be recruited from May 1 to July 30, 2024.

The selected professionals will undergo training on the job during an assessment of the 2024 KCSE papers.

Teachers who are already in the Knec database of assessors dont have to apply.

“Secondary school teachers to be recruited for the following papers: power mechanics, electricity, aviation technology, French oral, German oral, Arabic oral, Kenya sign language signing practical and music practical,” KNEC stated.

For one to qualify, he or she must be a practising teacher /tutor in the relevant subjects.

The candidate must also be registered and /or employed by the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) or a recognized professional body.

The applicant must have a diploma, or above, in education or in the relevant area of specialization, for aviation technology, he or she must also have a diploma in aeronautical engineering.

All candidates must have a minimum of three years of teaching experience and must be recommended by the head of the institution or employer.

Candidates who are not on interdiction or any other form of disciplinary action will not be considered.

The age bracket is capped at 50 years and below.

How to apply

Interested Kenyans have been requested to make applications on the examiners portal using the link https://examinersapp.knec.ac.ke.

“Those with CP2 accounts should log into the portal using their usernames and passwords, while those who would have forgotten their CP2 passwords should click on the “reset password” button and enter their mobile number in the format 254 and submit to get new passwords for logging into the system,” KNEC stated.

The Contracted Professionals System, commonly known as the KNEC CP2 portal, is an integrated online system that allows the council to manage all national examination officers. It captures accurate details of all people contracted to supervise, invigilate, and manage exams.

Those without CP2 accounts are required to click on Create Account and follow the instructions to acquire login credentials to access the system.

Upon successful login, the applicant should complete their profile and save it.

On the dashboard, applicants will then be required to click on apply for assessors vacancies.

All other declared vacancies will be available for the applicants to choose from.
