- Malei takes over as the new Public Service Management executive.
- Mutai also appointed Mercy Chepkorir Mutai as a member of the Municipal board.
Kericho governor Eric Mutai has sacked two county executives over loyalty issues and non-performance.
Daniel Rop and and Lawrence Bii were immediately replaced by Jackson Rop and John Malei.
Jackson is the former Kipkelion West MP. He lost the Kipkelion West seat to Hillary Kosgei in 2017.
Jackson will serve as Trade and Industrilisation executive.
Malei takes over as the new Public Service Management executive.
Mutai also appointed Mercy Chepkorir Mutai as a member of the Municipal board.
She is the daughter to the former Knut chairman Stanley Mutai .
Before his demise, Mutai was also a member of the board.
Mutai issued a stern warning to none performing executives, saying he will not hesitate to fire them.
"Get out of the comfort of your offices and address challenges facing residents," he said.
Mutai said the county will establish 15 new and modern markets in Ainamoi, Belgut, Bureti, Kipkelion East, Sigowet/Soin and Kipkelion West subcounties.
Some of the existing markets do not have washrooms and good drainage systems.
This has put the health of many traders and consumers at risk.
"Until such a time when our markets have wash rooms, lights, good drainage systems and regular collection of garbage, revenue collectors should not collect money form the business community," the governor said.
Mutai directed revenue collectors to only collect money from markets that have complied with all the requirements.
