Police are investigating the death of a woman, 35, whose body was found in her house in Kariobangi, Nairobi.

The body was decomposed by the time it was discovered. It is not clear when she died and what caused her death.

She had not been seen for days until Monday, April 22 when the residential caretaker reported that there was a foul smell from her house.

The house had been locked from inside which forced the neighbours to break in to establish the source of the smell.

A relative said the woman had been complaining of stomach pains and was bleeding.

The relative also said he had been calling the deceased woman for three days with no response.

The body was moved to the mortuary pending autopsy and further probe.

In another similar incident in Githurai, the body of a man was found outside a house.

Police said the man was a known drunkard. The cause of the death is yet to be known.
