Former IEBC chairman Wafula Chebukati has been left out of the Judicial Service Commission's shortlist of candidates for Court of Appeal Judge interviews.

Chebukati was among 82 individuals who had initially applied to fill the 11 vacant positions.

"The JSC having reviewed the applications for completeness and conformity with the requirements as set out in the advertisement, shortlisted forty one (41) candidates."

According to the JSC, interviews will be conducted between June 3 and June 20, 2024.

The interviews will be held at the 13th floor of CBK Pension Towers, at Harambee Avenue.

Other notable individuals who have been shortlisted for interviews include former IEBC chairperson Issack Hassan and lawyer Katwa Kigen.

Of the shortlisted, 32 are currently serving as Judges while nine are practicing lawyers.

The JSC has also invited members of the public to submit information that is of interest on the shortlisted candidates.

"Members of the public are invited to avail in writing any information of interest in respect to any of the shortlisted candidates on or before May 13, 2024.

"Take note that the Commission may interview any member of the public who has submitted information on any of the shortlisted candidates and such information shall be kept confidential," JSC said.

The JSC announced vacancies in the 11 positions and invited qualified candidates to apply on February 9, 2024.
