The late Journalist Rita Tinina's final journey started on Wednesday minutes past 7 am.

Family and friends gather at Umash Funeral home to pick up the body to proceed to her resting place in Narok.

Friends and relatives had a chance to view Tinina's body one last time before her send-off.

NTV journalist and the chairman of Rita Tinina's burial committee Duncan Khaemba had earlier revealed that Tinina's friends hired a Range Rover hearse to carry her body from the mortuary to her home.

"Rita's girls club (Judy, QZ, Njambi and Njeri) were to take a road trip together with Rita in a Range Rover during her leave. They have requested the family to allow them to fulfil that part of the deal so they will do that final road trip with Rita," Khaemba said.

Indeed, the Tinina's Girls Club honoured their own as her casket was carried in a black Range Rover.

Some of them also boarded the vehicle to escort their friend to her resting place.

The vehicle was decorated with a v-shaped wreath of flowers which were a mixture of red, white and green with a touch of purple.

Inside the hearse where the casket was placed, was decorated with red roses and the casket was covered with a white lace cloth.

The back windshield had a poster with Tinina's photo written ' Rita Tinina, forever in our hearts.

On her last lap, the hearse opened its sides and from the front view could be compared to a bird opening its wings.

According to the Funeral Programme, the body is supposed to arrive in Olokirikirai at 9 am with the official programme starting at 10 am with prayers.
