Speaking during the 10th Annual Nyeri County Prayer Breakfast Mama Rachel said Pastor Dorcas has set an example on the importance of fighting for youths in the country.

"I commend the efforts of Her Excellency my sister Pastor Dorcas Rigathi who has been at the forefront in addressing the challenges facing our young men in combating alcoholism and drug abuse. Your dedication and commitment inspire us to fight for the youth of our nation," she said.

Mama Rachel called on the Church to provide hope and guidance to Christians.

Pastor Dorcas is undertaking a Boy Child Programme run by the office of the Spouse of the Deputy President to help youths battling drugs, alcohol and substance abuse.

"We are introducing agriculture to our young people and even showing them hope to do tree nurseries like the young boys who we have been bringing out of drugs and alcohol," she said.

Pastor Dorcas stated that the Boychild programme seeks to help boys and youth out of drug and substance abuse, alcoholism, and mental health, among other challenges.

Speaking at the same event, Pastor Dorcas urged parents and communities to protect their children as they are the future generation.

"Children are a symbol of the future and the destiny of a nation. It is the children who will propagate the next dispensation and if the children are dead, a community will be dead," she said.

"I believe that is why our mother (Rachel Ruto) is hereafter wailing and praying to God now she can come and stand here, give thanks to God because our children are not going to die anymore."
