Kenya records 8 new cases of Covid, 7 recoveries

No patient has succumbed to the disease, cumulative fatalities remain 5,649.

Kenya has recorded 8 new cases of Covid-19 from a sample size of 2,767 tested in the last 24 hours.

On Saturday, Health CS Mutahi Kagwe said of the cases, three are Kenyans while 5 are foreigners and six are males, and 2 females.

The youngest patient is 14 years old while the oldest is 58 years old.

In terms of County distribution; Nakuru had one case and Nairobi had seven cases.

Total confirmed positive cases are 323,696 and cumulative tests so far conducted are 3,581,506.

Fortunately, no patient has succumbed to the disease therefore the cumulative fatalities remain at 5,649. 

The CS added that 7 patients have recovered from the disease, all of them from the Home-Based and Isolation Care program.

Total recoveries are 317,909 of whom 264,883 are from the Home-Based, and isolation program while 53,026 are from various health facilities countrywide.

Three patients are currently admitted to various health facilities while 135 are under the Home-Based Isolation and Care program.

No patient is in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) or on supplemental oxygen. 

Vaccination Campaign 

A total of 17,860,550 vaccines have been administered across the country.

The number of doses administered to the adult population is 16,331,039

Another 1,233,518 are doses administered to those between 15 to 17 years while 295,993 are booster doses.

The positivity rate is now at 0.3% per cent.
