President Uhuru Kenyatta has sent a message of condolence and comfort to South Africans and President Cyril Ramaphosa after floods killed over 300 people.

In his message to the bereaved families, President Kenyatta prayed for God's comfort as they come to terms with the painful demise of their loved ones.
"The government and the people of kenya stand in solidarity with South Africans during this difficult period of grief and suffering," Uhuru said.
According to Reuters, South Africa's biggest logistics and freight operator, Transnet, which runs the Durban port, suspended operations across its terminals there as the deluge damaged a road and hindered access to the terminals.
South Africa’s weather department said heavy rains will return from Friday to Monday.
Disaster management teams were evacuating people in areas where mudslides occurred and where buildings had collapsed, the province's Department of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs (Cogta) said.
