Cherangany MP Joshua Kuttuny wants investigative agencies to probe allegations of corruption in Parliament.
He said on Thursday the Directorate of Criminal Investigations, the Director of Public Prosecutions and the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission should unearth the truth.
Last Friday, Kimilili MP Didmus Barasa claimed some lawmakers received bribes to shoot down the contraband sugar report in Parliament. He said some pocketed as little as Sh10,000.
“The allegations Barasa is making seem to carry weight. Let the matter be probed to clear the air,” Kuttuny said during a security meeting at Makoi in his constituency.
He the bribery claims had tarnished MPs' names, and only investigations can help end speculation.
Kuttuny told Barasa to record a statement with the police.
“Some of us have untainted reputations, we will not sit back and watch as some colleagues destroy that because of taking Sh10,000," Kuttuny said.
He called for the arrest of briber givers and takers. Kuttuny said he is happy his name was not on the list.

On Wednesday,
