Three dormitories were burnt this morning at Riooga School in Kitutu Masaba constituency, Nyamira County.
The cause of the fire has not yet been established.
It is also not clear whether there were students in the school compound or not.
Nyamira County fire engines contained the fire after some items were reduced to ashes.
Principal Job Rasugu said the cause of the fire is unknown.
"The police are conducting investigations. We will let you know the outcome," Rasugu said.
