Opposition leader Raila Odinga discussed the Building Bridges Initiative with former US ambassador Robert Godec on Friday.
Godec met the ODM boss at his Capitol Hill office in Nairobi.
Via Twitter, Raila said they also talked out the upcoming visit by former US President Barack Obama.
Obama is expected to visit Kenya in July, a year after he left office. He will then
head to South Africa where he will deliver the 16th Nelson Mandela Annual Lecture in Johannesburg.

Raila also said he and Godec also discussed efforts to restore peace in South Sudan.
President Uhuru Kenyatta and other regional leaders are contributing to that country's peace process at the IGAD summit in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
On Thursday, Uhuru was
among IGAD leaders who helped narrow down the differences between South Sudan President Salva Kiir and rebel leader President Riek Machar.

The leaders are keen on restoring peace and stability in the country where civil war broke out in 2013.
Kiir and Machar
disagreed in less than two years after South Sudan’s independence in 2011.
