President Uhuru Kenyatta has eulogised Migori Senator Ben Oluoch as a true patriot who served the country with commitment and devotion.
Oluoch, a former Ramogi and KBC radio presenter, died on Tuesday morning at MP Shah Hospital in Nairobi. The 52-year-old had throat cancer.

In his message of condolence to the family and Migori residents, the President said Kenya had lost a great leader.
Uhuru said that throughout his career as a journalist before joining politics, Oluoch preached peace, love and unity and never shied away from standing for what was right.
“Indeed, Senator Oluoch was keen on uniting Kenyans. That’s why when he joined politics," he said.
"It was easy for the people to elect him. They had seen his passion and zeal in providing leadership by espousing national values when he was a journalist."
The President assured the family and the people of Migori of his support and prayed for comfort and fortitude for the bereaved.
ODM leader Raila Odinga, NASA chief Norman Magaya and county MPs are among those who have condoled with Oluoch's family.
On Twitter, Embakasi East MP Babu Owino wrote: “It was with so much shock and heaviness in my heart that I learnt of the sudden demise
of Senator Oluoch.
On behalf of my family and Embakasi East residents, I convey sincere condolences to his family and the people of Migori. May his soul rest in Peace."
Nairobi Senator Johnson Sakaja said: ”Sad to learn about the death of my colleague. Pole sana (My condolences) to the family, friends and the people of Migori. I pray for God’s comfort, strength and peace that surpasses all understanding for you all. May he rest In peace."
Nairobi Woman Representative Esther Passaris said:
“I am saddened ... I pray the almighty God comforts and gives strength to his family, he people of Migori and Kenyans at large. May his soul rest in peace."
Politician Alfred Keter of Nandi Hills said that it was unfortunate to lose Oluoch shortly after he started serving the people.
Western leaders said that he shaped their careers by inviting them to his morning show on Ramogi FM.
Alego Usonga MP Samuel Atandi said many politicians used the show to sell their agenda
before the 2017 general election.
