The man caught on camera assaulting election observer Martha Miano has been arrested.
Mathira West OCPD Kiptoo Birgen said he was locked up at Kiamariga police station amid investigations.
There was uproar after the man slapped Miano in the presence of Mathira MP Rigathi Gachagua.
A video shows the person in a striped shirt and brown trouser attacking
the observer of the Political Parties Liaison
Committee.
Miano
was assaulted at the Kiamariga station, following
a confrontation between Gachagua and election officials during the by-election in
Ruguru ward, Nyeri county.
