Coast regional coordinator Nelson Marwa has ordered the arrest of Solvit Security boss after his three guards linked to the killing of a banker in Nyali went missing.

Two guards were charged on Thursday with assault in connection with the death of David Wokabi, but three others are at large.

Marwa said the charges will be changed from assault to murder.

Today, Wokabi's family and friends head a demonstration from Aga Khan Hospital mortuary to Nyali Complex where they demanded speedy investigations and prosecution of the suspects.

“We are urging the regional coordinator Nelson Marwa to intervene and bring justice to the bereaved family. We also demand all the guards be removed from the centre,” John Njoroge, a family spokesperson said.

Wokabi worked at Stanbic Bank, located within the centre that also hosts clubs, supermarkets and several business premises.

CCTV footage shows at least five Solvit security firm guards beating him and leaving him unconscious at the gate at around 3 am.

The 34-year-old father of two was rushed to Jocham Hospital where doctors recommended that he be transferred to the Aga Khan Hospital.

The angry residents said they

will mobilize the business community and shut down the Nyali centre if the management will not take action within 24 hours.

The centre is owned by prominent Mombasa businessman.

Speaking during the memorial service held at Aga Khan hospital friends described the deceased as a jovial and friendly person.

‘It’s a big blow to the business community, we lost a good friend and an entrepreneur whose dreams were unfortunately cut short by rogue guards," said Doreen Koech.

An autopsy report obtained by the family indicates the man suffered damage to his skull and that he had cuts in the neck.

Wokabi's widow Grace, said they suspect foul play in the murder and urged police to conduct thorough investigations.
