One person died and three others were injured in a
head on collision near Kivulini on the Thika-Garissa highway on Saturday evening.
The accident occurred when the driver of a saloon car crashed into an on-coming tractor while attempting to overtake.
Four passengers in the small vehicle were rushed to Thika Level Five Hospital and one was pronounced dead on arrival.
The tractor driver incurred minor injuries in the incident.
There was heavy traffic on the highway as police had a difficult time pulling the vehicle that was trapped in the tractor's shovel.
The car was eventually towed to Makongeni police station.
Ten people died in Makutano on Saturday night.
