Israeli PM Netanyahu to attend Uhuru's inauguration

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will attend President Uhuru Kenyatta'sinauguration next Tuesday.

The Times of Israel reported on Wednesday

that Netanyahu will fly in Tuesday morning and leave after the ceremony.

In July 2016, Netanyahu became the first sitting Prime Minster to visit Kenya.

The PM is among 20 leaders expected to see the son of the first president of Kenya sworn-in for his second term.

Government Spokesman Eric Kiraithe is expected to provide the list of heads of state who have confirmed attendance.

Uhuru will be inaugurated since the Supreme Court upheld his election in the repeat presidential race on October 26.

The opposition has vowed to swear-in NASA leader Raila Odinga as president using the results of the August 8 poll. They insist the veteran Opposition chief won that election and that Uhuru and Deputy President William Ruto cannot continue "oppressing" Kenyans.
