Khaemba fires seven Trans Nzoia executives, names nominees

Governor Patrick Khaemba has fired seven

Trans Nzoia county executive committee members and retained three in his list of nominees.

Those relieved of their duties on Tuesday included Gaudenciah Malimbe (public service), Elizabeth Nyongesa (lands), Veronicah Muthoni (trade, commerce and industry) and Lewis Ndombi (health).

The others were Andrew Wanyonyi (agriculture), Eunice Chelimo (youth and gender), Wycliffe Kiiya (public works) and Ken Simiyu (finance).

Maurice Lokwaliwa (water) and Isaac Kogo (education) were retained while Agriculture chief officer Mary Nzomo has been nominated as county executive committee member in the same docket.

The governor has nominated Public Service Board secretary Clare Namenge for the public service post while Bikeke Girls' principal Susan Murumba has been chosen for the lands, housing and physical planning department.

Little-known Simeon Kisigei has been nominated as Muthoni's replacement.

Christine Tanguli, Trans Nzoia woman representative

Janet Nangabo's closest competitor in the August 8 election,

has been chosen for the health ministry while Aggrey Chemonges is the nominee for gender, youth and sports.

Caiphas Nambafu is the candidate for the roads and public works department while Boniface Wanyonyi is the hopeful for finance and planning.

The names of the new nominees were revealed on Tuesday in a notice to assembly speaker Joshua Werunga.

He will present the list to the assembly for vetting.
