A man was released on a Sh950,000 cash bail for stealing a similar amount from National Bank of Kenya.

Keprono Enock denied stealing the cash from the bank's Meru branch on October 14.

Prosecutor Claire Murithi said Enock stole the amount with others not before the court.

The court released him on a Sh950,000 cash bail or Sh1 million bond with a surety of a similar amount.

The matter will be mentioned on November 9 and heard on January 3, 2018.

On Wednesday, another employee of the bank was arraigned for stealing Sh400,000.

Sophia Mbiriga was released on a cash bail of Sh200,000 or bond of Sh400,000 and a surety of a similar amount.

In both cases, the suspects were arrested by the bank investigating unit officers.
