Uhuruto launch Jubilee manifesto ahead of August poll

President Uhuru Kenyatta and Deputy President William Ruto have launched the Jubilee party manifesto at the

Kasarani Sports Stadium Indoor Arena.

In an event attended by Jubilee nominees and other affiliated party, the launch dubbed

is based on free secondary education starting January 2018, creation of jobs for the youth, expansion of infrastructure and a free medical cover for the elderly aged 70 years and above.

President Uhuru said the Jubilee government said the Jubilee government will complete any pledges made during his campaigns four and a half years ago as well as start on new projects.

"We wish to give the people of Kenya a government that works and empowers its people because this country belongs to 45 million people and we will empower them to stand up and be independent."

He stated the manifesto is meant to make lives of Kenyans easier as they grow economically and socially.

"You have all witnessed what we have from 2013 when we came into power and we will do more onwards, we wanted mothers to have hospitals nearby to deliver to future leaders and that has come to pass. We wanted most

homes to be lit with electricity and we have more than doubled electrification in the nation," the President said.

DP Ruto said the manifesto, with seven key pillars is the best around and called on the competitors to copy from them given the agenda planned for the next 5 years.

"We are the only political party that has a track record that speaks for itself in an array of areas because we have a superior agenda for the country that our competitors can only copy and we welcome them to copy cause its the best." He stated.

Some of the pledges the duo made in 2013 included

free laptops for all class one pupils in public schools, the construction of stadia, the completion of the Mombasa-Nairobi stretch of the Standard Gauge Railway and free maternity care in all public health facilities.

They also promised to equip counties with the latest in health technology and the ‘last mile’ electricity connectivity project.
