President Uhuru Kenyatta has sacked KMC
chairman Taraiya ole Kores, days after he defected to the Opposition.
Kores parted ways with Jubilee after losing the governor primaries in April. He squarely blamed
Deputy President William Ruto for this, claiming he rigged him out in favour of
politician Joseph ole Lenku.

In a gazette notice dated June 22 and released on Friday, Uhuru appointed former Narok County Council chairman Senteu Ntoross as Kores' successor.
Ntoross takes over immediately and will hold the position at the Kenya Meat Commission
for the next three years.
Kores said his sacking was long overdue and that the President's action was of value to Jubilee because "the Maasai
nation decided ages ago to ditch the ruling coalition".
“As I have always said, Jubilee has its owners and those still inside from the Maasai community are yet to see worse than I saw in the party that I built from a scratch in Kajiado,” he told The Star by phone
on Friday.
Asked if he was bitter, he
retorted; “Bitter? What bitterness? There is nothing to be happy about there. Senteu is taking up that job because he has been in the cold for many years and thinks he has been given a job. I pity him for sure.”
After Kores ditched JP, party proponents in Kajiado fronted Julius ole Ntayia from the Kaputiei community to take over his position.
The politician has
since joined NASA and is one of presidential candidate Raila Odinga's chief campaigners
in Kajiado and Narok counties.
During a visit to
to receive Kores to ODM in
Iloodokilani Ward last week, Raila said the party had caught the "biggest fish ever' in Maasai land.
The Opposition has made inroads in Kajiado, which has been termed Jubilee swing county.
The appointment of a Narok Maasai to the KMC is expected to cause more friction in the county.
