Prison wardens and police officers are hunting for a 35-year-old man who escaped from the Gathigiriri prison in Mwea constituency on Tuesday afternoon.
Prison boss Benson Nyaboke said the man identified as Samuel Muchiri escaped while working at the prison farm.
He said Muchiri had been sentenced to one year and was due to complete his sentence in November this year. Nyaboke urged the public to give information leading to his capture. ‘’We were tipped he was spotted near Kutus, which is his home area and we have launched a manhunt,’’ he said.
