on Monday.

Gichira's campaign manager and lawyer

implored the court

to grant him lenient bond terms so he can pursue his nomination for the highest office in the land.

"The accused is asking to be given a personal bond to enable him pursue the dream of leading this country," he said.

The court refused to grant him the personal bond but released him on Sh200,000 cash bail and

wished him well.

"I hope the bail terms will not in any hinder you from achieving your dream of leading this country. This court wishes you well," the magistrate said.

Gichira has insisted that the suicide claims were leveled against him after he successfully challenged regulations the IEBC set for independent presidential candidates.
