Two suspected thugs were shot dead at Kariobangi South and three guns recovered.

One of the three, who were headed on a robbery mission around midnight, was arrested by the police who ambushed them.

Buruburu DCI chief Jeremiah Ikiao said a Glock pistol stolen from a civilian firearm holder in 2014 was recovered from the gang.

A second pistol, a home-made gun capable of firing, was also seized. A third firearm is still being examined.

On Tuesday last week, a suspected thug was shot dead and a pistol recovered in a botched robbery in Nairobi.

His accomplice fled the scene in Kwa Nguruwe in Kayole.

Nairobi DCI boss Ireri Kamwende said the two were riding on a stolen motorcycle.
