Lusaka dismisses NGO's integrity report as propaganda

Bungoma Governor Kenneth Lusaka has rubbished a report by rights activists who want 20 politicians balcklisted from the August polls over integrity.

The activists under the National Integrity Alliance presented the list to IEBC and other members of the Chapter Six Working Group on Wednesday.

The Governor was among the 20.

The NGO noted Lusaka was implicated in the controversial

purchase of the 10 wheelbarrows at a cost of Sh109, 000 each in September 2014. It was also said he has ties to a company that has been awarded most of the tenders in Bungoma.

But the county chief said on Wednesday:

''I want to tell our rivals, who have resorted to using propaganda and lies, that they will not succeed."

He addressed

youths from nine constituencies at his Webuye residence, accompanied by Deputy Governor Hillary Chongwony and Chief of Staff Everest Wafula.

The other politicians who risk being blacklisted are Cyprian Awiti (Homa Bay), Hassan Joho (Mombasa), Mwangi Wa Iria (Murang’a), Alfred Mutua (Machakos) and Evans Kidero (Nairobi)

Nairobi Senator Mike Sonko, Okoth Obado (Migori), former CS Anne Waiguru (Jubilee's Kirinyaga governor nominee) and Gladys Shollei (Jubilee nominee for Uasin Gishu woman representative) are also in the list.
