A police officer was on Wednesday shot and wounded after he was reported to have been involved in a crime incident at Hamsa area, Jogoo Road, Nairobi.
The officer attached to Diplomatic police unit was spotted at the scene at about 2 am while armed by residents who called police on patrol.
Police said the officer engaged them in a shootout before he was shot and injured in the buttocks.
He was taken to hospital where he was put under arrest.
It comes days after police authorities denied claims police are involved in crime.
