Baringo Senator Gideon Moi (pictured) has urged residents not to allow Deputy President William Ruto to make him politically impotent.
“Do not be deceived to castrate your own bull, while other communities like the Nandis and the Kipsigis retain theirs,” he told supporters on Saturday.
The Kanu national chairman said he will not seek to be senator for more than two terms.
He urged residents to reelect him for a second term.
“Thereafter, you will never be seeing me again putting up my posters to seek the Senate seat. Instead, I will be projecting for the presidency and other top government seats,” Moi said.
He addressed the public when he launched his campaigns in Kabimoi, Baringo county.
Moi is facing stiff competition from former Betting Control and Licensing Board director Simon Chelugui, an ally of DP Ruto.

He took issue with Ruto’s support for his opponent Chelugui.
“I have shelved all my interests to support Jubilee in 2017. I have not bothered about his Deputy President’s position or does he think I don’t want it? Why does he bother so much about my small senatorial seat?” Moi asked.
His supporters urged him to be more accessible.
“You are too slippery and far away to be reached any time, because of the many political brokers attached to you, which is unacceptable” resident Agnes Kemboi told him.

“You ought to readjust yourself.”
