Jericho Youth are up in arms after being locked out of the Saturday’s Kenya Handball Federation, Nairobi branch polls and club official Lucas Muoki has threatened to block the entire exercise through a court order.

The official explained that the incumbent is unfairly blocking them from the polls on the ground that they are not active participants in the national league. He said their troubles had everything to do with his intention to vie for the position of treasurer in Nairobi Branch and a committee member in the national office and not the league.
He said: “I read malice in all these. We have been active an club in the league since 2008 save for the 2015/2016 and by virtue of us being registered members, we are entitled to vote. However, I know I could be a threat to my opponents and that is why they are hell bent to make sure we are out.”
Muoki observed that he has send an email to KHF chairman FK Paul for his intervention.
“I wish to bring to your attention Nairobi branch intention to lock us out of the branch elections on the grounds that we are not active in the league and have issued back dated letters to clubs they wish to invite,” said Muoki in an email.
“I have documents to prove Jericho Youth have been in the national league since 2008. Besdies the new KHF constitution states very clearly that any active club can participate in the elections,” he added.
Reached for comment, Nairobi branch chairman John Ndonga said: “I have seen the email but I can’t comment on the same. However, truth be told the club is not organised and has not been active and that locks them out. But they can still vote if another club nominates them to do so.”
