Debuntantes Bulemia Ladies will open their 2017 Kenya women’S Premier League campaign against defending champions Vihiga Queens on Saturday at Mumias Sugar Sports Complex.

Vihiga Queens and Mombasa Youth Olympic cemented their stay at the helm of the Football Kenya Federation women’s Premier League Zone ‘A’ and ‘B’ during the Round 3 of matches staged over the weekend.
Both teams have posted 100 percent win in the three rounds of the league and enjoy a two-point lead in both zones. Zone ‘B’ leaders Vihiga Queens reaped maximum points with an emphatic 8-1 win against their uninspired neighbours Vihiga Leeds. The heavy punishment sunk Vihiga Leeds to the bottom without a win in their 2017 campaign. Leeds have a chance to redeem their characterless show this season when they meet Busia side, Bulemia FC on Sunday.
A 1-1 draw away to Edoret Falcons saw Wadadia ascend one place to second with seven points. Oserian are third with six points but with a game in hand as their match against win-less seventh-placed Nyamira County Starlets was shelved. The Falcons lie fourth with four points as premiership newbies Palos Ladies FC jumped from the bottom to fifth with their first (2-0) win of the season against Bulemia who moved down one place to sixth following the loss.
In Zone A, champions Thika Queens are second to Mombasa Youth Olympic with seven points after beating Kayole Starlets 3-0 in Round 3. Despite settling for a 1-1 stalemate with Makolanders, Mathare United moved to the third spot with four point, same with fourth-placed Kayole Starlets but seperated on goal difference.
Soccer Queens occupy the fifth position on three points after 5-3 win over Spedag , who now occupy sixth after one win in three fixtures. Soccer Sisters are seventh after their 2-1 loss to Mombasa Youth Olympic as Makolanders close the standing table with one point.
