Ministry of Sports and Culture Football Club edged closer to being dropped from the National Super League after forfeiting their second match in the 2017 campaign.
Yesterday, MOSCA failed to honour their game against Nairobi City Stars at Camp Toyoyo in Nairobi, gifting the Kawangware-based side maximum points without putting in much efforts.
MOSCA first skipped a duel pitting them and Administration Police on April 19 at Afraha Stadium, Nakuru. As per the Football Kenya Federation regulations, a team that forfeits three matches in a season shall be subject of relegation from whichever division they are playing.
Mosca, a government-sponsored outfit, are now staring at the drop on two fronts since their exploits in the league have been where they are rooted bootom of the table with just three points courtesy of three draws in 12 matches.
They play away to Eldoret side GFE 105 in their next fixture.
Meanwhile, Nairobi City Stars moved to 10th on the standing table with 17 points following the walkover. After picking a point on the road from a 2-2 stalemate against St. Joseph at Afraha Stadium on Saturday, GFE 105 sit in the eight position with 18 points.
The draw, however, condemned St. Joseph to the drop-zone with six points accounted after one win, three draws and sevens loses. Bidco FC sit between bottom-placed MOSCA and St. Joseph with five points.
On the the end of the table, Wazito extended their stay at the summit after a 2-0 win over Modern Coast Rangers on Saturday to reach 28 points. Ushuru and Vihiga United are closely behind with a one-point deficit.
