Two Wiper members have said they will move to court on Monday to block Parliament from conducting elections of EALA members slated for May 23.

Zeth Omollo and Temi Mutia accused Wiper of rigging in Kalonzo Musyoka’s firstborn son, Kennedy, despite poor performance during the vetting.

They argue that the party vetting process was marred by serious "opacity and flaws."

"For instance, Farah Maalim, the chair of the NEC vetting panel, was not furnished with copies of Kennedy’s curriculum vitae," they said in a statement.

"This was despite the fact that the CV was a mandatory requirement in the application."

The two also accused Wiper NEC of violating EALA nomination rules by submitting only one name to Parliament instead of three.

"What is the logic of participating in an election where there is only one candidate?" they asked.

Wiper, which has one slot in the regional parliament, reportedly prevailed upon four candidates to withdraw their bid in favour of Kalonzo's son.

"We shall be jointly proceeding to court to seek an injunction stopping the forthcoming EALA election because it is just but an illegality."

Omollo said the party’s NEC was hell-bent on picking Kalonzo’s son at the expense of experienced persons.

"There was generally a propensity to make the other candidates disadvantaged," he said.

"For instance, I received the text inviting me for the vetting session at 10pm."
