Hundreds of Jubilee supporters hit the streets of Eldoret town after the party ordered a repeat of Ainabkoi MP ticket polls.

Most of them saw the move as an attempt to save 'key asset' MP Samuel Chepkonga who lost in the primaries.

The nominations will be repeated on Wednesday in only one polling station at Munyaka primary school.

Chepkonga claimed the results of the last primaries were inflated at the said station hence causing him to lose.

The incumbent lost with only about 120 votes after which he filed a complaint with the Jubilee appeals tribunal.

The Constitutional and Legal Affairs committee chairman was beaten by William Chepkut - Nicholas Biwott's aide.

Chepkut got 13, 685 votes against his opponent's 13,556. The two had faced off during the 2013 polls.

His supporters claimed there is a scheme to rig out the Jubilee ticket winner.

"I clearly won and I am confident that I will again win in the repeat polls," Chepkut, who describes himself as a servant of the people, said.

Chepkonga was rated as one of the best performing MPs, especially in legislation.

But his loss has been largely blamed on being absent from the constituency.

There are claims that powerful forces in Jubilee are keen to have Chepkonga in Parliament.
