Kiambu traders have sued Governor William Kabogo and the county government for charging them license fees for the same business twice.
The bars and hotel operators in Ruiru and Githurai, want the court to quash the county's Alcoholic Drink and Control (Licensing) Act 2014.
In an application filed at the Milimani law court Wednesday, the group said the arrangement amounts to double taxation.
The regulation is expected to come into force as from April 30.
