A Kimilili MP hopeful
yesterday condemned burning of a business belonging to an MCA hopeful, in what appeared to have been fuelled by political rivalry. The arsonists are yet to be identified.
Didmus Barasa of JP told the Star in Bungoma town that this level of intolerance must not be permitted as it pollutes the political environment and is a recipe for chaos.
“I call upon the people of Kimilili to refrain from political hooliganism. Let’s not forget that we have a life after the election,” he said.
The business
belonged
to Ben Miringo,
a Kimilili
JP MCA aspirant. The premises and property worth millions of shillings were destroyed on Saturday.
Police have yet to establish the cause, but there are suspicions it was politically motivated.
Barasa said
he would donate 20 iron sheets to Miringo and urged the
county government
to help him recover. He told Jubilee aspirants to accept nomination outcomes and back winners so they can emerge victorious on August 8
“We can’t all win. I urge losers to support the victors to ensure we strengthen our party in this region,” Barasa said.
