ODM orders repeat nominations cross seven constituencies

The ODM has ordered repeat nominations on Wednesday

across seven constituencies which experienced irregularities and delays during last week’s primaries.

Director of communications Philip Etale said in a statement on Sunday the decision by the National Elections Board followed a review of various complaints that were presented to the party’s appeals tribunal.

The affected constituencies are Nakuru Town West, Shinyalu, South Mugirango, Naivasha, Nyaribari Chache and Kajiado East.

In Naivasha, repeat nominations will only be conducted in Olkaria Ward and

Ibeno and Birongo Wards in Nyaribari Chache constituency.

In Kajiado East constituency, fresh polls will only be held at St. Monica Polling Station in Kitengela Ward.

Etale said fresh polls have also been called in four polling stations within Taveta Constituency where rains hampered the exercise on Tuesday, April 18.

They are Jipe Primary School, Chala Primary School, Mahandakini Primary School, and St. Joseph Kivukoni Primary School.

Meanwhile, the Communications Director confirmed that election materials for Monday’s primaries in Kisumu, Homabay, Siaya and Migori Counties had already been dispatched to the counties.

He said this was to ensure timely distribution of the materials ahead of kick-off time at 6am.

“For purposes of coordination of information tomorrow (Monday) and the days to follow, the media is advised to liaise with the Directorate of Communications at Orange House for accurate information on the progress of the exercise,” Etale said.
