Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho and Migori's Okoth Obado have buried the hatchet a day after a chaotic rally in Migori town.
Joho's bodyguard was shot and injured by one attached to Obado during the event at Posta grounds.
Obado reportedly made good his threat to prevent ODM from holding a rally in the town.
The event was disrupted when the MP arrived unannounced as Kisumu Senator Anyang’ Nyong’o addressed the crowd.
Joho said the alleged assassination had been conducted by experts who wanted to harm the leaders.

But on Tuesday, the two held talks at the Raila Odinga Secretariat at Capital Hill and agreed to hold free and fair nominations.
Joho, who is ODM deputy leader, further assured members that the party has no
preferred candidates.
Prior to the rally, the Migori ODM office was partially burnt ahead of its launch by Joho and Kakamega Governor Wycliffe Oparanya.
A petrol bomb was reportedly thrown over the perimeter wall on Sunday night, starting a fire that residents put out.
ODM acquired the office on March 2, ending a prolonged political standoff with Obado over ownership.
The party's officials in the county rejected a new office donated by the Governor and informed him that they had acquired new premises in a letter dated February 26.
They said this would avoid confusion and ensure that only one office in the county had its initials.
The new office is located right behind the Governor’s in Migori town.
