Governor Evans Kidero and Miguna Miguna exchanged pleasantries when they shared a platform at a church service in Nairobi.

The two were seen laughing heartily when they met at the Jericho SDA church on Saturday.

While Kidero wants the ODM ticket in the race, Miguna has declared he will go to the polls as an independent candidate.

Miguna urged those present at the church to consider voting for incorruptible leaders during the scheduled polls.

"Vote incorruptible people who are ready to serve and solve your problems," he said.

"You have the power to free yourself from bad governance on August 8."

Kidero, on the other hand, said he did not want to politic since he had gone to the service to worship.

The governor said he will welcome his competitor in the race for talks after the August 8 election.

"We will welcome our brother Miguna after the polls so that we talk about the issues he has raised," Kidero said.

"The coming election is about leaders with wisdom and experience...I agree with Miguna that those are the qualities we should look for," he said.

He asked the former aide of ODM leader Raila Odinga to back his bid in August.

The two leaders will face off with the winner of the Jubilee Party nominations slated for April.

Former MPs Peter Kenneth (Gatanga), Margaret Wanjiru (Starehe), and Senator Mike Sonko have applied for nomination under Jubilee Party.
