Water CS Eugene Wamalwa is out of the Trans Nzoia governor race.

Wamalwa did not present his nomination papers to Jubilee Party, through which he was to vie for the post. The presentation of the nomination papers was closed on Friday.

The party has cleared businessman Kakai Bisau and former journalist Joshua Sang, among other aspirants, for the April primaries. Yesterday, Wamalwa did not respond to text messages and calls for a comment.

“We have not seen Wamalwa’s documents,” said a senior party official who declined to be named. Earlier this month, Bumula MP Boniface Otsiula said Wamalwa had shelved his political ambition “to create time to campaign for Jubilee Party candidates in Western”.
