Naivasha Mp John Kihagi who was last week deported from Italy over forgery on his passport was on Friday blasted in public by his rivals.

The MP had made his

first public appearance at the Milimani High School in Naivasha for a prize giving event.

On Tuesday, the first time legislature who had accompanied his colleagues to Rome was deported over forged stamps on his passport.

Kihagi was criticised soon after he addressed the students and urged them to uphold discipline

and avoid drug abuse.

"Discipline is key to your education and you should keep off from cheating and other immoral things if you want to succeed," he said.

Led by former Naivasha MP Jane Kihara, his rivals said the MP lacked disciple and integrity and should therefore not address

students on discipline matters.

Kihara termed the incident as shameful adding that the legislator did not have any moral authority to lecture students on discipline.

"We are ashamed by the actions of our Mp and we want to denounce them as they have ended up tarnishing the name of Naivasha," she said.

Another parliamentary aspirant Antony Rebo wondered why the Mp had not been charged with fraud.

"We are calling on the necessary government agencies to move with haste and investigate the Mp. He should be charged in court," he said.

Maendeleo ya Wanawake chairperson in Naivasha Esther Nyokabi also

challenged the Mp to come clean on the issue.

"We are shocked by this bizarre incident and the only person who can explain what really happened is the Mp but he has decided to keep quiet," she said.

Efforts by the press to get a comment from the MP were fruitless as he evaded the issue and drove off.

Earlier, Lakeview MCA Simon Wanyoike had challenged Kihagi to come clean on the issue and clear his name which had been tainted.

"We are concerned by the deportation and fraud issues been reported on our Mp and we are seeking clarification from him so that we can know where the truth lies," he said.
