Doctors at the Kenyatta National Hospital have been asked to resume work immediately after the hospital management signed a return to formula with the doctors union on Saturday evening.

“We call upon all doctors of Kenyatta Hospital to resume work with immediate effect,” KMPDU Secretary General Ouma Oluga said after signing the return to work formula.

The hospitals’ CEO Lily Koross said that both parties had reached an agreement, four days after the three month long doctors’ strike was called off on Tuesday.

“Neither is it the hospital that will carry the day, nor will it be the doctors union, it is the patients,” Korros said

Last week, the hospitals’ board reinstated 12 doctors who were sacked for participating in the recent nationwide strike.

This was after the doctors declined to resume duty until the management reinstated their sacked colleagues.
