The National Super Alliance will field one candidate for every elective seat in Nairobi, Governor Evans Kidero has said.

Kidero said that the coalition partners- Wiper, ODM, Ford Kenya, and ANC have agreed to back one candidate from the governor to MCA positions.

He said that the move is to ensure the opposition scoops as many seats as possible in the August 8 general elections.

"We have already agreed to have joint nominations in Nairobi," he said at Garden Estate Secondary School on Tuesday.

Kidero said that in 2013, the opposition lost many seats to Jubilee because Cord parties fielded many candidates for the same seat.

ODM won seven out of the 17 MP seats in Nairobi in the March 2013 election. Cord scooped 43 out of 85 MCA seats.

It, however, recaptured Mathare constituency in a by-election held in August 2014.

NASA leaders are split over calls that the coalition conducts joint primaries to give it an upper hand over Jubilee.

Kidero also took a swipe on Interior CS Joseph Nkaissery, accusing the latter of failing to take action on the Senator Mike Sonko and Jubilee hopeful Peter Kenneth .

"I counted 23 guns during the altercation. Nkaissery is still silent and busy harassing Governor (Hassan) Joho who has not threatened anyone with a gun," he said.
