An 18-year-old man will spend 15 months in jail after admitting that he engaged in an act of sex with a hen in Bungoma.

Kevin Simiyu was arrested after he was 'caught in the act' by the hen's owner at Nandolia, Kanduyi sub-county on Friday.

Simiyi admitted the bestiality charge when he appeared before magistrate Stephen Mogute.

He shocked the packed court when, for the second time, he pleaded guilty to the offence.

Simiyu asked the court to be lenient with him saying he was driven by evil spirits to commit the act.

He asked the court to consider his sentence since he is a first offender.

Simiyu, who argued that girls shun him because he is poor, will be incarcerated at the Bungoma G.K prison.
