He said he made the decision after President Uhuru Kenyatta and DP William Ruto prevailed upon him to drop his bid.

It is expected that Wamalwa will retain a cabinet post should Uhuru and Ruto win the polls.

"I want to assure you that I will be coming down with all the force to ensure that Jubilee sweeps most of the seats in Western region," he said on Tuesday.

Wamalwa was speaking at a meeting with Jubilee aspirants in Webuye.

He laughed off the opposition for claiming Western was their stronghold.

"I have heard people moving around here bragging that they have support in the region. I want to tell them to brace for the mother of all battles," he said.

Wamalwa asked Bungoma Senator Moses Wetang'ula and ANC's Musalia Mudavadi to reconsider their stand, saying they have no position in the NASA arrangement.
