The Jubilee party has written to all aspirants seeking to have them pay nomination fees by March 4.

The party wants the incumbents and aspirants to present the necessary documents to the party before the deadline.

These include deposit slips for registration and nominations, certified certificates and nomination application forms.

Secretary general Veronica Maina on Tuesday said the Governor fee is Sh400,000 and Senator fee is Sh250,000.

Those seeking to be elected as MPs and woman representative are required to pay Sh200,000, while MCA aspirants should pay Sh30,000.

She stated that all women, youth and people with disablities shall pay half the amounts for the respective positions they seek.

"But all parliamentary women representatives are not exempted; they will not get the 50 per cent discount," Veronica said.

She said only 5,000 aspirants have paid the nomination fees in different seats ahead of the party primaries scheduled for April.

Maina cautioned aspirants that no party agent or official has been appointed to collect fees on their behalf and asked them to report any incidence to party headquarters and the police.

Jubilee is expected to attract a large number of aspirants after many shunned ODM because of their high nomination fees.

More on this:

ODM requires presidential aspirants to pay Sh1 million, while governor aspirants pay Sh500,000.

In their latest schedule, IEBC said political parties will hold their primaries on April 20.

Nomination papers will then be taken to IEBC by political party and independent candidates between May 8 and 20.
